| Exercise 1 - Characteristics Associated with Employee Absenteeism |
|
Our psychology department has been asked to study employee absenteeism at each of two campuses, West Palm Beach and Orlando. For a sample of 30 employees at each campus, the number of absences over a three-year period and the employee's years of service are recorded. It is believed that the number of absences is influenced by the years of service. Analyze each plant separately and compare your results.. (Hint = Split File)
|
|
|
Now suppose that in addition to years of service, the gender of the employee in the sample was recorded. Analyze the data and interpret your results. |
| Exercise 2 - The Putative Characteristics Associated with Good Performance on Literature Tests |
| Are there benefits
associated with attending a study session prior to taking a literature test?
We'll see. In addition, it is believed that another factor in student
test performance, besides whether a student attended a study session, was
simply the quality of the student. Students' grand point averages
(GPAs) were used to characterize student quality. Finally, it was
suspected that a student's class (freshman, sophomore, etc.) might explain
some of the observed variation among grades. Test these hypothesis and
interpret the model.
